Honestly, I feel like going off campus would be beneficial to keep underclassman happy. It makes lunch lines shorter with less crowded lunch rooms. We interviewed Brisseily Cejudo Morquecho, a sophomore transfer, who said, “ I feel like everyone should be able to go off campus but freshman – because they got to earn it. Also 30 minutes is not long enough for lunch because most of the food places are so far.” We also asked a junior who’s been here since freshman year, Dailen Terry, who said, “I think students should be able to go off campus as long as they are responsible in getting back in time for next classes, then they should be able to go and I don’t see a problem with it”. We wanted to know an administrators thoughts on this topic, so we asked Mrs. Schurbon, ” I look at it more as a privilege that could be earned by the underclassmen because they need to show they are responsible, not late to classes, and doing well in school… Maybe that will lead to them being able to go off campus for lunch soon – maybe even next semester.” Overall it sounds like sophomores could earn the right, as long as they keep up good behavior.
