Sierra Stallions bites a tough loss.
In the Gazette game of the week, the Sierra Stallions lost 28-45 to Pueblo Central Wildcats. It wasn’t a very good night for the Stallions. There were many turnovers that the Stallions had that probably ultimately cost them the game. In the end of the first half, the Stallions were down 38-12. As the Stallions were in the locker room at halftime they kept their heads up and knew they were still in the game and had a chance to make a come back. Coming out on offense, Sierra marched down and gave the ball to Elijah Smith for a 7 yard touchdown to make the score 20-38. The Wildcat offense came back on the field and tried to pull away the game, when Pueblo Central Quarterback threw a interception to Tristin Burris who was able to return it down all the way to 5 yard line. Unfortunately the Stallions couldn’t capitalize and left the end of the quarter with a score remaining at 20-38. Coming into the last quarter- Pueblo Central was able to put another touchdown on the board making it 45-20. The Stallions still had their hopes up and came back on the field with 4 minutes left in the game when Tobias Tuato’o threw a 20 yard pass that was complete to Tristin Burris making it 28-45. The Stallions tried to make a onside kick but failed to recover allowing Pueblo Central to run out the clock and win the game.
